Fold3 Library Edition: Recent Wars

Fold3 Library Edition by Ancestry provides convenient access to a growing collection of US military records, including the stories, photos, and personal documents of the men and women who served. It contains millions of records from world-class archives.

Where to search

Recent War records may be searched within Fold3 Library Edition in a number of ways:

  1. The Home and Search tabs allow you to search across all data collections in Fold3 Library Edition, including Recent War records by First Name and Last Name.
  2. From the Home Search page or the Search tab search page, locate and click on Recent War found in the lower center page to Search by name, Browse Popular, New & Updated records or Browse all Recent War Titles.
  3. Select "Popular" located under Recent War to browse or search the most viewed records and narrow your search to only these types of records.
  4. Select "New and Updated" located under the Recent War  search box to browse or search newly added or newly updated records and narrow your search to only these records.
  5. Locate and click on Recent War in the main Search box to search all records by First Name and Last Name, or access Advanced search options by clicking the Search icon.

Recent War Records

Operation Enduring Freedom" (OEF) is the operational codename given by the United States government to the War in Afghanistan which began in 2001 and is currently an ongoing conflict.  Search information about each fatality including his or her full name, branch of service, pay grade and rank, unit, casualty location, date of death, age, residence, and more. View or add to memorial pages for men and women killed in the Persian Gulf War. The full name of each fatality is followed by date of death, rank, and service branch.  Medal of Honor Recipients, 1863-2013 records can be browsed or searched from all five branches of service: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Each listing contains the name of the recipient, rank, organization, and personal information when possible.
