This page represents a selection of witnesses in congressional hearings. Some people, such as Michael J. Fox, have testified many times before Congress. Users can search by using the drop down menu in Advanced Search to search by Last Name, First Name. Witnesses can also be found by Witness Affiliation and by using Full Text search.
Note, while some may view the celebrity witnesses as less serious than other witnesses, celebrities bring a spotlight to the issues, may have a great deal of background and testify quite movingly on the issues.
Enjoy reading these hearings and using them as a starting point for Witness content.
As a bit of background, there are a few articles out there about celebrity witnesses: the K.B. Journal article by Darr and Strine (Fall 2009, http://www.kbjournal.org/content/pentadic-analysis-celebrity-testimony-congressional-hearings), the Talking Points memo (from September 2010, http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/thought-colbert-was-bad-here-are-the-top-five-head-scratching-celebrity-congessional-testimonials), and the Journal of Law and Politics (Spring 2009, volume 25, pg 83ff).
