During the years 1972-1976, representatives for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Soviet Union signed environmental agreements of cooperation in eleven areas, including air and water pollution, protection of natural and marine environments, and influence of environmental changes on climate. This collection contains approximately 180 folders of archival materials.
Contains documents on air and water pollution, compiled mostly by the U.S. Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare, in preparation for President Kennedy’s trip to several Western and Midwestern States. Includes maps and information on major sources of pollution and state and federal pollution mitigation programs in selected States.
