EBL - Ebook Library: Print, Copy & URLs

A guide covering how to search, find, and use ebooks in the EBL patron interface

Print

Click the Print button at the top of the EBL Online Reader. Three options are available for printing:

  • Single Page - Print the page you were just viewing
  • Print Range - Manually enter one or more page ranges to print
  • Full Chapters - Select multiple chapters from the list to print

The default print allowance is 40% of a ebook’s total content. Publishers may choose to modify these defaults, but typically they do not. When selecting Full Chapters, keep in mind that the printing quota may restrict your ability to print an entire chapter. The Summary section of the Print page and the Details tab shows your used and remaining print allowance.

Adobe Reader is required to print ebook content. If you experience an issue with printing, please check to make sure:

  • An up-to-date version of Adobe Reader is installed
  • Adobe Reader JavaScript Preferences (Edit > Preferences) have Acrobat Javascript enabled
  • Your web browser is set to open PDFs in the browser (Instructions: Display PDF in Browser)
  • Your web browser has JavaScript enabled

Note: The EBL system is set up to allow users to reprint pages that they have already tried to print. So, even though pages may have been subtracted from your print quota, as long as you select any of the same pages to reprint, you should be able to print them again even if the print quota has been reached.

Copy

Select the Copy button at the top of the EBL Online Reader. Click and drag to select the text you wish to copy, then copy via Right-Click > Copy, or by pressing Ctrl+C.

The default copy allowance is 20% of a ebook’s total content.. Publishers may choose to modify these defaults on Ebook Central, but typically they do not. The Details tab shows your used and remaining copy allowance.

Adobe Reader is required to copy ebook content.

URLs

To obtain a direct link (i.e., persistant or durable URL) to an ebook, bookmark the link in your preferred browser or copy the URL from your browser's address bar while viewing the book details page.

To obtain a direct link to an individual chapter or section, go to the Contents tab on the book details page, right-click on the chapter or section name and select Copy. The link format will be http://XXXXX.eblib.com/patron/Read.aspx?p=[EBL ID]&pg=[page #].
