Literature Online (LION): Browse Reference Works

A guide to all aspects of Literature Online (LION) including content, searching, and viewing results.

Browse Reference Works

You can access the browses for the Reference section of Literature Online by following the links in the Reference section of the Complete Contents page or from the Reference menu in the main site navigation.

There are five browses:

  • Reference Works

You can use the Reference Works browse to locate an entry in a particular reference work such as an encyclopedia, dictionary or glossary.

The top level of the Reference browse lists all the reference works in alphabetical order.

  • Scroll down the list of reference works.
  • Click a title to list the individual entries in a particular reference work.
  • Use the A-Z links at the top of the reference work page to jump to entry titles beginning with a particular letter
  • Click the entry title in order to view the full text.
