PressReader: Authentication

Access to more than 6,000 newspapers and magazine worldwide

Authentication Methods

PressReader provides information on the various connection methods for users.  See this page for specifics on the following:

IP Address:  this method of authentication is a great way to authenticate onsite patrons.  Radiant access will allow users to have 2 (public and government libraries) to 7 (academic libraries) days of offsite access.  After that time, re-authentication is required.

URL Referrer:  this  offers your off-site patrons access from your website by setting up an authenticated link to PressReader from a secure or password protected page.

Proxy: enables libraries to authenticate users through a proxy server

Library Card using SIP2: this method offers Library Card login directly on the PressReader platform if the library uses SIP2 communication protocols.  It is a way for simple offsite authentication

Geo Fencing: a way to create a virtual perimeter around your library that allows nearby people to know you are a PressReader provider
