Summon: A Great Place to Start Your Research: About

Getting the most out of Summon at your Library

Summon LibGuide

Welcome Summon users and welcome library staff!  We hope you are finding Summon a great place to start your research by discovering the breadth of your library:

  • Library Databases
  • Library Collections (library catalog, institutional repositories, and more)
  • Abstracting & Indexing (A&I) Resources
  • Open Access Collections

Users, have a look at the For Users tab.  Whether you have never used Summon before, or you've used it quite a bit, you should find useful information about this tool designed to help you quickly and easily discover the great material available at your library.

Are you a library staff member?

In addition to providing quick and easy discovery, Summon provides opportunities to make sure the discovery tool effectively connects users to the expertise and subject-specific resources at your library that are essential for furthering one's research.  Have a look around the LibGuide for suggestions to consider, frequently asked questions, and additional resources

Library Staff

Not yet providing the Summon 2.0 interface to your users?   Providing topical information, library resources, and librarian expertise to assist a user with identifying their research topic is one new and exciting aspect of the new interface:

  • Read more about Summon 2.0
  • Check out our Webinars page to sign up for an upcoming Summon or catch a recording

And try it out!  Libraries using the legacy Summon interface have a Summon 2.0 preview environment available anytime at, where "mylibrary" is the same as the URL prefix of your current Summon site.
