Black Abolitionist Papers: Results

A guide to all aspects of ProQuest's Black Abolitionist Papers database including content, searching, and viewing results.

Search Results Tips

The Black Abolitionist Papers database results page will display each record sorted by relevancy (by default). Each result will display the author (if known), the title, publication or source, publication date, and available format (image, PDF, and/or full text). All results have an "Add to Marked List" check box used to add the item to the current session's marked list. To learn more about the marked list refer to the My Archive page of this guide.

By default, the search engine searches across all content types. Use the links at the top of the page to jump to the relevant section for the content type you are interested in.

A maximum of 5000 records will be returned.

Use the page number system displayed below the returned results to see more results beyond the first 25.

Click on a number (between 1 and 10) to view another page of results. If the number of pages of results exceeds 10, click the Next link to view page 11 upwards, and so on. On subsequent pages, the Previous link will display the links for the previous pages.

The default maximum number of records displayed per page is 25. You may change the maximum number to 50; once changed this will persist throughout your session.
