Congressional Record fields for searching

When searching only the Congressional Record  the fields pulldown displays the search options that are specific to the content types in the Record. 


Note:  often users may be successful simply by using the All fields except full text.

 Extensive options for searching are listed below the search boxes


Below the search boxes, there are additional options for searching including

  • content from Members (for example, John McCain on the Topic Entitlements),
  • Content type (there are approximately 28 options)
  • Section of the Congressional Record, and
  • GPO Index Volumes.

Searching using a member name now allows you to find remarks by that person on a particular topic.
