The the MARC Records (both revised records, and information about changes that can be made to existing records in library catalogs) necessitated by our migration from LexisNexis to ProQuest are available.  The LexisNexis URLs in our old MARC records no longer work.

Please contact Technical Support (tsupport@proquest.com) for the URL and login credentials if you need the fresh, revised, records. 

For those with the old, LexisNexis URLs in the 856 field, the primary change for the new MARC records is with the URL in the 856 field. We have also made other minor changes to the records to reflect the company change from LexisNexis to ProQuest.

If you don’t want to reload your MARC records, you can make the changes with a find/replace in your library catalog system, if your system permits. The instructions for the find and replace are located on this page.

For OCLC WorldCat Local customers, we will be providing revised versions of these records to OCLC for loading into WorldCat Local. Currently, OCLC expects to batch load all these records in a quarterly reload later in 2013.

When the Find and Replace instructions are available, the MARC records will be, as well.

1. Delete existing 040 field. Add new 040 field: 040   $aUMI$cUMI
2. Replace “LexisNexis Congressional” with “ProQuest Congressional” in the 500 note field.
3. Replace “LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions” with “ProQuest, LLC” in the 500 note field.
4. Replace “LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions” to “ProQuest” in subfield c of the 533 field.
5. Replace “LexisNexis U.S.” with “ProQuest U.S.” in subfield n of the 533 field.
6. Replace “LexisNexis” with “ProQuest” in the second subfield n of the 533 field.
7. Replace “LexisNexis” with “ProQuest” in the 730 field.
8. Replace “www.lexisnexis.com” with “congressional.proquest.com” in all 856 fields.

CRDC (CRS Reports & Committee Prints)

1. Delete the 040 field. Add new 040 field: 040   $aUMI$cUMI.
2. Replace “LexisNexis U.S.” with “ProQuest U.S.” in the 500 note field.
3. Replace “LexisNexis” with “ProQuest, LLC” in the 500 note field.
4. Replace “LexisNexis” with “ProQuest” in the 730 field.
5. Replace “www.lexisnexis.com” with “congressional.proquest.com” in all 856 fields.

Serial Set

1. Delete the 040 field. Add a new 040 field: 040   $aUMI$cUMI.
2. Replace “LexisNexis” with “ProQuest” in all 099 fields.
3. Replace “LexisNexis U.S.” with “ProQuest U.S.” in the 500 note field.
4. Replace “LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions” with “ProQuest, LLC” in the 500 note field.
5. Replace “LexisNexis” with “ProQuest” in the 510 field.
6. Replace “LexisNexis Academic & Library Solutions” with “ProQuest” in subfield c of the 533 field.
7. Replace “LexisNexis” with “ProQuest” in subfield f of the 533 field.
8. Replace “www.lexisnexis.com” with “congressional.proquest.com” in all 856 fields.
