Users are able to access timely, updated information from over 350 public policy think tanks, nongovernmental organizations, research institutes, university centers, advocacy groups, and other entities. Over 75 public policy topics are covered, from foreign policy to domestic policy.

They can search and access reports from over 300 active think tanks, research organizations, and advocacy groups including the Hoover Institution, International Monetary Fund, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, RAND Corporation, and the World Bank.

The majority of Policy File Index records link directly to the full-text report, paper, document, or other source. Content is updated on a very frequent basis, with approximately 250 new records added weekly. Organizations are reviewed daily in order to add their latest information into Policy File Index and additional subjects and organizations are also added to the resource as needed.
