About Vote Reports

Vote Reports provide a summary of how Congress voted on a bill, including:

  • vote question
  • vote outcome
  • detailed breakdown of votes by member
  • sponsors

 

See a high level overview of the vote

When the Vote Report first loads, you will see a high level overview describing what the vote was about, and a breakdown by part.

 

 

Viewing how each member voted

You can view from the "Vote details" tab how each member voted:

 

You can also download a spreadsheet containing the detailed breakdown of votes.

 

Learn about Bill Sponsors

The sponsor tab provides information about the different types of Sponsors associated with the bill.

 

Accessing

Use the Basic Search Form, Advanced Search Form, or Search By Number Form

These forms are found under the Congressional or the Legislative & Executive Publications links in the menu bar across the top of the interface.

 

 

Advanced Search also provides specialized options for searching Vote Reports, including Sponsor.

 

Additionally, if you are viewing a Bill Profile, the "Actions" tab will include links you can use to search for corresponding vote reports.
